Shadow Angel: Book One

From the moment I saw the shadows come to life, I knew my world would never be the same.

Yesterday I was a teenager waiting tables in Manhattan, and today, monsters exist and I can see them.

Overnight I’m thrown into the realm of the Watchers, a society of earthbound angels split into two factions: The Shades, whose powerful dark magic is given to them by the fallen angels, and the Lumens, whose abilities are bestowed on them by the archangels of Avalon.

They’re on opposite sides of a brutal war, and I only have a few days to pick which side I want to join. I’m ready to choose when the Shades force my hand by cursing someone I love.

The only hope I have of saving them rests on the broad shoulders of the prickliest Shade alive, Gage Alston. He’s cold, arrogant, and quite possibly the most attractive guy I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Do I trust him? No.
Do I need him? Yes.
Do I want to kiss him? Maybe.

Perhaps I’ll choose darkness after all.

Shadow Angel book one is a fantastic read with a beautiful cover! Fans of Fallen Academy will be thrilled about this Shadow Angel series. It has a similar concept. When you get to the respective age, it’s either you go with team Angels or the Demons. You get to choose!

It has mystery vibes that keep me guessing throughout the story until I get the answer, and it also has angels and demons fighting in action, a visit to hell, hurtful truth and a heartbreaking love story!

I have a love-hate relationship with the heroine, Tatum. I like her being bold, but some of her actions of acting first and thinking later drive me mad. She should be mature with all the responsibility she shouldered at the tender age, caring for her grandmother. I wish to see her grow up soon!

The ending is a major cliffhanger that leaves me wanting more, and I cannot wait to jump into the next one immediately!

Shadow Angel: Book Two

He’s gone, and the worst part is, I don’t if he’s dead or alive.

I dealt with the curse. I picked my side. The hellish nightmare that I woke up to when I discovered I was a Watcher should be over, but it’s not.

Weeks have passed with no sign of Gage and I can’t seem to move on, but a war is brewing and wallowing is no longer an option.

With the ruler of the Netherworld after me, my new mission not only affects one realm, but all of them.

Save my mom.
Save the souls.
Save the world.

No pressure.

I expect Gage to return from Avalon with full glory. Instead, it’s the complete opposite. I also thought Aurum was him, but no. So, I learned my lesson. Do not speculate in this Shadow Angel story because it’s full of twists and turns! The last statement by Apollyon proves this to be true. I didn’t expect that at all.

What more to say than I enjoy the ride so far?

Shadow Angel: Book Three

I didn’t think there were any more surprises, but I was wrong.

My mission hasn’t changed, defeat Apollyon and free the souls trapped in the Netherworld, but everything just got a lot more complicated. I have a sister, my boyfriend’s a shifter controlled by my enemy, and now it’s not just my life that’s in danger, but my soul as well.

As the ruler of the Netherworld amasses an army, my to-do list gets stranger by the day.

Sneak into Shade City.
Get my boyfriend wings.
Find a lost realm.

But even if I manage to pull all that off, one burning question remains. How do I defeat an enemy I can’t kill without dying?

The story ended on a satisfying note, with all the questions I had in mind being answered, and the things I wished to happen came true. Though I love the action parts of the story, the emotional parts were just as good. I like the way the characters showed such devotion to one another and stuck together through thick and thin.

The plot was solid, and the characters were all unique and exciting. I was particularly moved by the way the characters dealt with their struggles and hardships and how they ultimately found a way to keep going and remain hopeful.

Tatum and Gage’s story had reached the end, but the story for the newcomer, Harley, was only about to begin. Could Leia Stone and Julie Hall make it happen? Only time will tell. However, it’s been over a year since the completion of this book three though. So, maybe not?
