Die for Me

My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.
Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.
Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.
Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.
While I’m fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family’s—in jeopardy for a chance at love?
My thoughts…
I love Amy Plum’s writing style! The story flows flawlessly, and the vividly described scenes transport me to Paris with our main heroine, Kate. It’s easy to play the story in my mind like a movie.
The supernatural beings in the story are unlike anything I’ve read before, so it’s refreshing, and as a result, I keep waiting to find out more about them. Thankfully, Kate is as curious as I am.
I find Kate’s character likeable. Everything she does and her decision-making are realistic, unlike Georgia. I find her quite the opposite of Kate. Despite being the eldest, I feel that Kate is the mature one. I hope that with what has transpired in this book, Georgia can turn over a new leaf and be one of the characters I like in the future.
I also like the Revenant members for being so supportive of Vincent, and I look forward to reading more about the funny Jules, the tough guy Ambrose and Charlotte with her poor, unstable twin brother, Charles.
As usual, I don’t read the synopsis of the next book, so I have no idea what’s in store. Reading the next book this way provides the best experience because authentic surprises play a vital role in the enjoyment. It is fun not knowing, and you should try it as well!
Until I Die

I wish there was only today, just right now, and no forever.
It seems fitting that I fell in love in Paris, the most beautiful city in the world. And if I pretend, I can almost believe that my life is normal and everyone I care about is safe.
But as long as I’m with Vincent, “normal” doesn’t exist. Gorgeous, charming, and witty, he’s everything you could ask for in a boyfriend—but his destiny is so much more.
Even more terrifying than his destiny are his dangerous enemies, enemies who will kill for immortality. How are Vincent and I supposed to be together forever if we’re always in danger?
I know I’ll do whatever it takes—even if it means lying to the people I love—to fight against a fate that is trying to tear us apart.
My thoughts…
Kate has earned a place amongst the Revenants following the death of the Numa leader, Lucien, in which she plays a part in the killing. Now more than ever, Vincent is trying hard to find a way to please Kate, mainly because Kate can’t bear to witness his repeated deaths as he fulfils his Revenant’s instinct to save others.
Meanwhile, Kate discreetly conducted her research to address the same issue. However, unbeknown to them, another person with even bigger ambition slithered in amongst the Revenants. One that they did not see coming until it was too late.
Like the crushed lilies under the bridge, drifting away by the current, is that all left of the romance between Kate and Vincent?
I can’t wait to read the next book and find out what fate awaits Kate. Surely, she will have a bigger role because I can’t seem to shake the feeling that she might have a Revenant gene. Also, that can’t be the end of Kate’s love life. Can it? Unless Jules steps in?
I also look forward to finding out if Georgia and the Revenant she is infatuated with will have a future together. It would be entertaining if they both found themselves in a similar predicament with their grandparents! I actually enjoyed her character in this book, especially as she proves to be supportive of Kate.
By the way, I could see the traitor coming from a distance! However, I truly didn’t expect the end for this sweet couple to arrive so quickly. After all their efforts? Damn!
If only Kate hadn’t been selfish, all the hassles could have been avoided. I mean, she’s okay with Vincent being Dormant, even lying next to his cold body for three days! It’s akin to being dead to save others, so why not just avoid looking at him when he’s in a poor state?
Die for Her

Set in the romantic and death-defying world of the international bestselling Die for Me trilogy, this digital original novella follows Jules, a brooding, immortal French artist who has fallen in love with his best friend’s girlfriend.
Jules Marchenoir is a revenant—an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save human lives. He’s spent the better part of the last century flirting his way through Paris, but when he met Kate Mercier, the heroine from Amy Plum’s Die for Me trilogy, he knew his afterlife had changed forever and he had found the love of his life. Until Kate fell for his best friend, Vincent. Now Jules is faced with an impossible decision: choosing between his loyal friend and a love truly worth dying for.
My thoughts…
This novella is a delightful and refreshing read about the secondary character, Jules, from the main story. I’m delighted because sometimes when a novella is told from the point of view of another character, most of what we already know from the main series is presented in the most boring, repetitive way. But this isn’t the case with this book.
Now, allow me to scream: I knew it! I could see that Jules had a thing for Kate from the subtle hints in the main books. He has a slow start, but boy, oh boy! He has it as bad as Vincent. But as for Kate, I didn’t pick up on any reciprocal attraction from her side.
Perhaps, now that Vincent’s body is gone forever, with enough hardship shared between the two, feelings will develop, and Jules might have a chance with Kate. But, who knows because Kate is still head over heels for Vincent. Nevertheless, I’m glad Jules remained loyal to Vincent and didn’t play dirty. He could have, but he didn’t.
Back to what it entails in this short novella, the story starts when they first see Kate and ends where book two has ended. From Jules’s perspective, Vincent looks weak and like a lost puppy without Kate. He doesn’t sound like a Champion to me! Meanwhile, he admires Kate’s strength and bravery, not only her pretty face.
Having read Jules’s story, I think between Vincent and Jules, I like the latter more. Unless we have another novella from Vincent baring his soul and explaining his actions from his perspective, it might just be a game changer that could sway my perception of him.
If I Should Die

Kate is devastated. Her boyfriend Vincent is a revenant who waited lifetimes to find her. But once he did their future together was shattered almost immediately. They were betrayed by their trusted ally, Violette. She killed Vincent and destroyed his body so that he could not be reanimated.
Now Vincent is doomed to roam the earth as a spirit. But Kate isn’t willing to accept life without her true love. She’ll risk anything to save him, even as Violette, their friend-turned-enemy, begins to wage a war to rule over France’s Immortals. Amy Plum created an intricate, original mythology for her YA paranormal series.
The books, set in Paris, the City of Lights, introduce readers to revenants, undead beings who must sacrifice themselves again and again to save the lives of strangers.
My thoughts…
Kate and Vincent’s conclusion was absolutely wild! Amy’s skilful blending of action, emotion, and unique supernatural beings made me fall head over heels for both Paris and the characters!
The secondary characters are so well-developed that I want to be friends with them! So, it’s no surprise that I want to read stories featuring Charlotte, Arthur, and their future partners. I’m not content with only Jules’s story! I want more!
Die Once More

This one-hundred-page novella picks up where the international bestselling Die for Me trilogy ended and follows the eternally irresistible Jules Marchenoir as he leaves Paris behind for a fresh start in New York City.
Jules is a revenant—an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save human lives. He’s spent the last century flirting his way through Paris and, most recently, falling in love with his best friend’s girlfriend. Loyalty and heartbreak have led him to choose a new life in NYC.
Separated from his friends and his home, Jules is adrift in this dangerous new world, facing unknown enemies . . . until he meets a revenant named Ava. Though the battle for France has been won, an epic war between good and evil has just begun in the Big Apple, and Ava needs Jules’s help to uncover the key to an American victory. Jules finds himself in the same position he crossed an ocean to escape: at risk of losing his immortal existence as well as his heart.
My thoughts…
It was a necessary read! Those who fancy Jules have to read this short novella because, let’s be honest here, we need to give Vincent and Kate’s closest friends a happily ever after ending before we can let go of this series!
This short novella, a quick and enjoyable read from Jules’s point of view, is packed with updates! You’ll travel with him to New York and reconnect with Charlotte, Ambrose, Arthur, and Georgia in France!
To Die For: A Die For Me Novella

Picking up five years after the events of the DIE FOR ME books, TO DIE FOR follows 17-year-old Louis, once numa, now transitioning to bardia. As Paris’s revenants face a new threat, Louis joins them from where he’s been living in isolation in Brittany.
Louis is tasked with giving insight into numa strategy, in case of attack. But he must also work side-by-side with Siaka, a young guerriseur and chemistry student at the Sorbonne, to establish a worldwide liaison between Flame-fingers and bardia. That is, if their budding romance doesn’t get in the way.
Through Louis’s story, TO DIE FOR reconnects readers with Kate & Vincent, Jules & Ava, Georgia & Arthur, Charlotte & Ambrose, as well as Gaspard, Charles, Bran and other characters from the beloved DIE FOR ME series. Romance, mystery, adventure, and—who knows?—maybe even a wedding.
My thoughts…
Having lived in isolation with Bran, Louis finds it a little awkward to reintegrate into a social life when he’s unexpectedly summoned to La Maison to assist with Numa insights and a project that will link the Bardia and the Flame-fingers worldwide. His adjustment is further complicated by his immediate attraction to Siaka, a young Guerriseur he is working with in the project.
Due to the importance of the project, Louis is conflicted between staying professional or acting on his feelings. What if their relationship turns sour and affects the good progress the two entities are making? How can he prove his loyalty to those who are sceptical and wary about his loyalty?
While not as good as previous books, which I had hoped would explore the challenges of his Numa transitioning into Bardia instead of focusing on his love story. It’s still a welcome update on the familiar characters, catching up with them several years after the events in the last book.

My thoughts…
I liked most of the things written in this sort of bible for the Die for Me series. If I were in France, I’d love to explore the settings in person; it would be fun.
Gaspard’s epilogue was a highlight for me. After Jean-Baptiste’s passing, we hadn’t had a clue about how Gaspard was handling the situation, and with this extra, we know that he’s getting better mentally.
The other fun parts were the deleted scenes. Imagine if some of the deleted scenes were used! I guess we’ll read a slightly different story. However, Vincent’s POV was a bit of a letdown, particularly the section when he was with Violette. I would have loved reading a story detailing his time with Violette until they restored him.
Overall, this is a must-read for super hardcore fans of the Revenants AKA Die for Me series.
