Captive of Wolves
My blood is their salvation… and my ruin.
For years, the monsters who killed my family have held me in a cage. Brutalized and half-starved. Only kept alive so they can steal my blood.
Until one evening when four eerily gorgeous men break me out of my prison.
They give me a soft bed and delicious food. They say they’ll protect me—but their generosity may come at a price.
My rescuers are monsters like my captors: fae who shift into wolves. A curse gripping the faerie realm turns them wild under the full moon. Only my blood can cure their rage.
These fearsome men need me, and not just to lift the curse. A tragedy left them outcasts, and offering me to their rulers could win them back the home and the power they lost.
No matter how kindly they treat me, no matter how their smoldering eyes and strong hands stir unfamiliar desires in both my body and my heart, their castle is just another prison. As long as I’m a prize more than a person, my life will never be my own.
I’ve survived this long without giving up. I won’t roll over now. But how can one damaged human girl hold her own against the savage fae?
My thoughts…
She was kidnapped and kept in captivity for nine years in a cage. When strangers rescue her from the dreadful place, Talia finally finds herself in much more comfortable accommodation, but she is still in Mists, the fae realm, and her blood is precious in breaking the wolf curse during the full moon.
Now in the hand of her new rescuer, what will they do with her? Turn her over to the arch-lords for a reward like the initial plan? Take her back to the human world? Harvest her blood? It’s a tricky situation for her new rescuer.
This book is by far the best I’ve read from Eva Chase’s series. I hope the remaining eight books will be as good as this one. What I loved about this book is the length, the world-building, the suspense, and the characters, each with their unique personalities, which are distinguishable from one another, and the heroine with a strong will and likeable, but pity with her leg condition, tho. I hope in the future, with some miracle, that will get fixed.
The other character that I like so far is August. He is the first one to show kindness to our heroine. Sylas is okay, but there’s not much interaction or compassion shown until almost the end. As for Whitt, he is still slightly an asshole, but not up to Kellan’s level, which I’m glad he is out of the picture!
There is still so much we don’t know about Talia’s heritage. Is she merely human? What makes her blood special? I can’t wait to read what is in store for them next!
Feral Blood
Twice I’ve been kidnapped by the fae.
First were the monsters who ripped me from everything I knew and threw me in a cage.
Next came the men who rescued me and offered me a safe haven.
But my saviors and my former captors have something in common. A decades-old curse holds all the Seelie fae in its grasp, turning them into savage, mindless beasts with the rise of the full moon. Something in my blood cures that rage like nothing else they’ve found. To most of them, I’m nothing but a prize to be claimed.
The fiercely passionate men who’ve taken me in would give me my freedom, but the ones who first stole me will stop at nothing to drag me back into their prison. The already weakened pack that’s welcomed me may not survive a battle.
I didn’t expect to find love among the fae… but I can’t deny the feelings growing inside me. I didn’t mean to get mixed up in a war between them… but here I am. When my newfound lovers leap into the fray to protect me, I won’t let them fight alone.
No matter what it costs me.
My thoughts…
In this second book, we barely scratch the surface of what’s happening with the summer and winter fae. The cause of the conflict and winter fae’s world remains a mystery. Meanwhile, the political situation in summer fae isn’t great, but at least, in the end, Sylas and his pack finally get his homeland back. But, in exchange for the possibility of jeopardizing Talia’s safety.
I love that Whitt is warming up to Talia. She needs all the support to survive in this dangerous world. With Whitt on board, this will also strengthen the bonds among the cadre. They, no doubt, will be facing a challenging situation in the next coming days.
I hope to read more about Talia developing her magic talent or perhaps some more discoveries about her. I also wonder if someone will notice the disappearance of Kellan. How will they cover the incident?
Kings of Moonlight
My power could unite the summer fae… or tear them utterly apart.
The truth is out. The whole Seelie realm now knows that the cure for their full moon curse lies in my blood.
I thought the gamble of revealing that secret would put only my safety on the line. But when one of the arch-lords sets his sights on me, it soon becomes clear there’s so much more at stake.
Claiming me is just one piece in a play for control over all Seelie kind. How can honorable men like my new lovers fight back when our enemies are willing to stoop so low? To save me and his pack, the lord who rescued me may have to turn into the thing he hates most.
With awful secrets unearthed and betrayals among our own, can I find a way to be my lovers’ strength in this storm—or will I become their fatal weakness?
My thoughts…
Talia has grown so much from a timid little human into a woman with a brain. She proves to the pack that besides her precious blood, she has other use in the group. Her brilliant ideas save them from problems and are also the main reason for their victory.
The small revelations on Talia’s heritage in this book are not enough to reveal the whole special blood issue. There’s still more to discover, and this third book’s exciting part is in the story’s last few chapters. There’s planning, action and result, and I liked the revelation at the end. Royal Mate will be an interesting one to read. Hopefully, a visit to the other territory!

Royal Mate
Love bound us together… but fate has other plans.
Just when a happily ever after with my Seelie men was within reach, the Heart of the Mists tied me to one of the foreboding winter arch-lords. I can’t escape the connection between us. The enemy can speak from right within my soul.
I’m not willing to give up on my happiness that easily, but I can’t let the realms descend into all-out war. I’ll brave the uncertainties of the winter lands if that’s what it takes to protect the men I love.
My chilly Unseelie arch-lord isn’t quite what I expected, though. As the lines between ally and enemy start to blur, can I stop the clash of winter and summer before even more blood is shed?
My thoughts…
Who could have thought we would have a new character halfway through the series? A suitor from the winter fae realm brings a pleasant surprise, and the drama that follows suit gives us something to ponder. How to solve the issue, and is Talia have to give up the others from the Summer realm?
I’m thrilled that Talia has rekindled her relationship with Harper. One must have a friend, besides lover(s), to navigate the unknown world! This book has some new tidbits on the winter fae realm – the building structures, scenes, and a little about politics. The last chapter reveals some valuable information on the issue happening in the winter realm and one that will be the main point for the next book!
Secrets of Winter
Is this bond a blessing or a curse?
My blood binds me to the curse of the summer fae. Am I entwined with the Unseelie’s curse as well? I didn’t ask to be the key to the survival of not one but two faerie realms, but I can’t stand by while others suffer if there’s some way I can help.
Unfortunately, the ties of my heart to men on both sides may cause more problems than I can solve. After years of violence, will summer and winter even find peace? Neither side is eager to compromise, and my lovers’ loyalties to me have turned them into targets.
I want to believe that love can win out over hate and pain. But as tensions both between and within the realms rise, it might break me apart instead.
My thoughts…
This is a lovely read with many scenes focusing on the winter realm. Talia gets to spend more time with Corwin and understand his mate more deeply. Besides, Talia is also busy experimenting with the team for a cure to the curse, getting to know the domain’s issues, meeting with the locals, getting into trouble with the arch-lords, etc.
I’m quite pleased with how things turn out to be, and the information that was dropped just before the end of the story was very exciting! Now I must read the next book ASAP!
Fated Crown
Are some bonds meant to be broken?
I thought I’d lost everything when the vicious fae murdered my family and stole me away. I’ve made a life with more love than I could have imagined in these dangerous, magical lands. But it turns out I left something behind in the human world.
My heart longs to make up for the time I’ve lost—but it also can’t let go of the four fae men I adore. With all of the fae seeing me as some kind of savior, how can I choose who needs me most?
And is there another threat lurking behind the arch-lords’ attempts to tear me from my lovers? I can’t shake the feeling that my greatest challenge lies ahead of me, one no crown or tender words can save me from.
My thoughts…
Talia has managed to repeat her cure for the winter curse, so things are looking good in that department, at least on a temporary solution for summer and winter fae. But, with respect gained from the faes, Talia faces another challenge from the arch-lords in the winter fae realm, and as old life catches up to her, Talia must weigh the option presented to her. To go back to her world or stick with the faes?
The ending to this book, tho, that’s a hell of a killer cliffhanger! One that will urge you to check the next book immediately, and it seems like we are getting closer to solving the mystery of Talia’s unique talent!
Lies of Murk
What if everything you’d fought for was a lie?
Just when it seemed I’d overcome the biggest obstacles my fae mates and I could face, I find myself in the hands of their greatest enemies. Enemies who have more power than we ever imagined.
Enemies who hold so much more sway over my life than I want to believe.
I have to escape, and not just to warn the men I love and defend the home I’ve made with them. The longer I remain, the more these villains can use me to destroy everything I care about.
If I fail now, the entire faerie world will crumble. I don’t know if I can do it alone—but where will I find an ally among the cruelest of the fae?
My thoughts…
The story in the series is progressing like a game. In order to move up to the next level, in this case, advance to another realm, Talia has to win the heart of one or more members in that particular realm.
Since she has conquered the two realms previously, she is left with the last part, the Murk realm. I like the way it progresses, for I get the opportunity to visit a new kingdom and learn about the world or hierarchy of the place. The Murk’s world isn’t as pretty as the previous two.
The Murk live a very challenging life. They forage for food, build a shelter in an abandoned subway tunnel, have no luxurious lifestyle, and heavily rely on their king’s leadership. They have more stories to tell than judging just based on what we have learned so far from the point of view of the winter and summer fae. It was fascinating.
The mystery of Talia’s origin is finally revealed in this story! I wonder if that’s all it? What about the intervention of the heart? Since the maker does not know of her unique talent. I can’t wait to read the next book!
Chained Soul
Who will win the war for my soul?
My return to my mates has brought unexpected joys—and warnings of danger to come. But as we prepare for war with the greatest enemies of the Mists, a new ally arrives with an even more dire revelation.
I haven’t escaped the sadistic Murk king after all. His magic lurks inside me, sinking in its vicious claws. However, he can use me to torment the fae I love, he will.
The man who once stood beside him may hold the key to saving all of us. But he and my mates have centuries of hate to overcome. Blood will be shed, lives will be lost… and one of them might be mine.
Note: This book contains scenes of early pregnancy trauma.
My thoughts…
Sombre. That’s what the atmosphere feels like back in the Mists. The return of their saviour, Talia, and her pregnancy is supposed to be celebrated by the season fae. Instead, it has been tainted with an evil plan orchestra by the king of the Murk.
With the curse and the impending war looming towards the Winter and Summer fae, they must put their trust in Modoc, the one and only Rat shifter that seems to be helping them. But is he genuine?
The story is tense, with plenty of emotional situations along the story – Joy, anguish, betrayal, hopelessness, and love. I think this is the best book in the series, and with only one book left, there are only a few things to clear up after this. What will happen to Orion and his people, and how will they cure the curses permanently?
Heart of the Mists
Will I sacrifice my heart to save my home?
War has finally come to the Mists. The Murk have invaded, and if they have their way, the men I love and all the other fae in the place I now call home will fall before their twisted magic.
I may be only human, but I won’t let my lovers fight alone. I’ve proven again and again that I’m more than a cure for their curse. I’m not a tool but a wild card our enemies still don’t fully understand.
But our only chance at victory may come at a cost too high for me to bear. What if winning means destroying the bonds that have made my life worth living?
My thoughts…
The loose end tied up perfectly; what a lovely happy ending! I won’t disclose any further to avoid the spoiler. The promise of a spin-off soothes the ache in my heart because I cannot leave the world yet. I blame Eva Chase for writing such vivid and lively realms that I wish I could stay there forever.
If not mistaken, Saved by Wolves: A Bound to the Fae Novel is the spin-off. However, it’s not out yet! But it will be in 7 more days! Why, oh, why did I read this book so quickly 😢. From the blurb, I think the story will be about Kara, Corwin’s supposed soul-twined bond. I was hoping for a story about Harper and Donovon or with the Murk. But, I will take whatever or whoever they are.
Saved by Wolves: A Bound to the Fae Novel
My fated mate rejected me… and I tried to murder the woman he loves.
When my fated mate turned his back on me, my pain pushed me to a desperate act of violence. Years later, I’m left with only shame, a bond that’s faded to nothing, and the disdain of the raven shifter flock I was meant to rule.
All I want is a chance at a new life. So I fly from my wintery home to the realm of the wolf-shifting summer fae, where no one will recognize my name.
I never expect a random attack to bring three pack-less wolves racing to my rescue. Determined to protect and pamper me, they won’t let me out of their sight.
But even as my saviors’ fierce ways wear down the walls around my heart, I can’t give in to hope. If they knew what I’ve done, they’d never look at me with affection again.
Then I stumble on a chance to make amends for my past crimes—by putting everything I still care about on the line. Can a woman who played the villain earn the love of three heroic men, or will this gamble bring my final downfall?
My thoughts…
A fun and exciting story where the villain gets a second chance at righting the wrong and finding love!
The story features Kara, the villain from the main series, but fast-forward to 10 years later when she finishes her sentence. By accident, she meets Brice, Ronan, and Nyle, wolves who live in isolation. Together, they will get to know each other’s past and ultimately work as a team to right the wrong.
Those still reluctant to leave the Mists, a fae world created by Eva, will find satisfaction in reading this companion novella. This book needs to be read after you have completed the series, or else you will get some spoilers. But, if you are not planning to read the series, you may go ahead.
Before wrapping up the series, I always compared the similarities between the leading male characters’ personalities in Eva’s series that I’ve finished reading. Here goes what I thought about the heroes’ first impressions or actions towards the heroines.
