The Dark Bite

Vampires are the spawn of the devil. Evil to the core… or so I thought, until one of them saves my life.

As a member of the House of Rose, a division of the Vampire Hunter Society, I’ve got one of the highest kill records on file. I track my mark and don’t stop until the job is done.

That is until my mark saves my life. Luka Drake isn’t like the vampires I’ve been hunting for the past five years, and despite the fact that he’s a vampire prince fresh out of Magic City Prison for committing God knows what crime, I can’t kill him.

My only other option is to walk away and pretend our paths never crossed. I’m about to pull it off but Luka pulls me back, and in the worst way possible, in a way that changes everything.

This is a full-length slow-burn paranormal romance for readers who love Jaymin Eve, Linsey Hall and K.F. Breene.

My thoughts…

Vampires are evil beings. They are rapists and murderers, and ever since she was little, Aspen has been taught to kill the beings. That’s until Maz, the leader of the House of Rose in Spokane, also a mother figure to Aspen, assigned her to kill Luka, the vampire prince. Her act of saving the creature she despised seals her fate, and her world is never the same anymore.

The Dark Bite by Leia Stone is the first book of the Vampire Hunter Society series set in the same world as the Wolf Girl Series with a continuous timeline – right after the war between werewolves and vampires has ended.

The heroine, Aspen, is not as badass as Demi. As far as we know from this first book, she does not have extraordinary power. The revelation at the end of the book about her lineage might contribute to something. I wonder how the story will play out.

As usual, Leia Stone’s narrative style is fast-paced. The Dark Bite is a page-turner with lots of actions plus some humour and is a must-read book for the fans of the Wolf Girl series.

The Dark Bond

Everything I thought I knew was a lie. The evil vampire spawn I’d hunted my entire life have turned out to be my only allies. Hidden away in Magic City, I’ve promised to help support Luka as he competes to become King.

The problem? I’m falling for him and he’s engaged to be married.

To get my mind off of my boy problem, Liv and I band together with our allies to dig deeper into the betrayal of every hunter. What I find shocks me to my core.

With Luka’s fiancé breathing down my neck, and hidden truths bubbling to the surface daily, it will take every skill I have to stay alive.

My thoughts…

The dark bond refers to Aspen’s relationship with Luka, the vampire prince. Initially, the protagonist despises Luka, and in her view, the bond is a nuisance. However, over time, after she gets to know Luka better, her opinion towards him changes, and she eventually falls in love with him, only to find out that Luka has had a marriage arrangement since he was little.

Book two brings heartache and uncertainty for Aspen, but fans of the Wolf Girl series will be happy because Demi’s team will get involved on several occasions in the story. As for me, thanks to Liv’s persuasion, I’m pleased with how the story unfolds and can’t wait to read Aspen’s happy ending in the next book! Happy reading!

The Dark Soul

After coming to grips with what I have become, I now have to step up and be what everyone needs me to be.

A wife.
A savior.
A Queen.

It will take all of my newfound powers in order to take Maz and the dark fey down, but I will stop at nothing to get my revenge.

I’ll risk it all just to watch the entire Society burn…

My thoughts…

So, I finished reading this book in one sitting, and my complaint stands. The story is way too short. Other than that, I appreciate it being fun and engaging. I hope that one day, all the heroines will get together again in another series where they battle the ultimate foes.

I’m intrigued by the Magical Creature Council. The witch seems to be a decent character, compassionate, understanding and badass. I don’t even know her name, but I hope Leia Stone will make room for this character to have her own story.

Overall, this series is a must-read for fans of the Wolf Girl series as the readers will also get some juicy updates and get in touch with characters from the Wolf Girl series.
