City of Lion

I’ve never been to Singapore before, so, when we found a suitable flight to Hong Kong departing from Singapore, we immediately booked it. It’s like killing two birds with one stone.

We flew with AirAsia from Penang International Airport to Changi Airport Terminal 1; the flight time was 1 hour 25 minutes. We arrived at 1:20 pm and rushed out to get a taxi to Little India. The journey only took 22 minutes.

Little India

Little India also was known as Tekka by the local Tamil community

Once we had our lunch, we walked around Little India, and I saw something about the alcohol consumption rules and here’s what was written on the notice board.

Notice about alcohol:
No Consumption Of Alcohol in Little India and Vicinity
There shall be no consumption of alcohol in any public place within the proclaimed area on :
*Weekends (Between 6.00am on Saturday to 6.00am on Monday)
*Eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays (Between 6.00am on Eve of Public Holiday to 6.00am on the day after public holiday)

Hotel Grand Chancellor

From Little India, we walked to Hotel Grand Chancellor. It was a short walk for about 5 minutes. Well, that was the purpose of booking the hotel, having it next to Indian food. The process of check-in was smooth and they even upgraded our room for free. I’m not sure the reason for the free upgrade, but we have no problem accepting their kindness 😉.

The upgraded room came with a balcony, so, we spent our time checking out the view and tried to look at the direction of places we were heading to, but we couldn’t pinpoint it.

Marina Bay

We walked to Little India station which was about 450 metres away from the hotel and took the Downtown Line before getting off at the Downtown station.

Singapore MRT & LRT Map

From there we walked our way up to the Bayfront and stopped by for a few drinks at Caffee B. The price for a glass of 500ml Heineken was 12.40 SGD and Pepsi at 6.00 SGD.

Finished with our drinks, we walked around the Merlion park and chilled out in the area. As for dinner, we went to Chinatown Northern Dumplings located at 18 mosque street.

Paradise Inn

The next morning, we took a taxi to Changi Airport and had our lunch at the Paradise Inn. The food was yummy, and I would definitely have my meal over there again in the future.
