The Reading Order – How to Read Supernatural Bounty Hunter Series by Leia Stone and Lucia Ashta

  • 1 Magic Bite
  • 2 Magic Sight
  • 3 Magic Touch

Magic Bite

Evie Black and her demon imp partner, Cass, are two of the most fearsome supernatural bounty hunters on the West Coast. But when Evie’s beloved grandmother dies, her world shatters.

After finding the bottom of a bottle of tequila, Evie breaks the one rule she knows better than to ignore: Never hook up with a werewolf.

Especially when he’s the local alpha who, oh by the way, happens to be her gran’s sworn enemy.

Yeah, complicated doesn’t even begin to cover what happens next.

On top of it all, she’ll have to navigate the consequences of her actions while hunting a dangerous siren who’s on the most wanted mark list, the one whose secrets are as dangerous as her own.

Evie Black has lost her grandmother recently. Out of despair, she broke the rules to not hook up with a werewolf. A one-night stand that sealed her destiny forever. What’s worse? It’s her grandmother’s sworn enemy.

Magic Bite is the first instalment of the Supernatural Bounty Hunter series. A badass meets with an alpha wolf bound to spill a fiery mouth fight and ego as high as a mountain. But, it may gradually change the status from enemy to lover, as the union between them is inevitable as their passionate one-night stand results in the possible arrival of a baby.

I also wonder what favour Evie’s grandmother did to Croft, the lawyer, which earned Evie a free lawyer service for the rest of her life. It must be the ability to walk in the sun 🤔. Nevertheless, with the cliffhanger at the end of this book, the next book, Magic Sight, must be read pronto.

Evie is a badass supernatural bounty hunter. She lost her grandmother recently, and her parents died in a car accident when she was a baby. But, their demises might not be an accident or natural cause. Because she recently discovered she wasn’t a dud witch but something more rare.

Brock is the alpha wolf who lives just at the top of the hill from Allie’s grandmother’s cabin. Brock’s family has been her grandmother’s sworn enemy. The feud between the two families might stem from a similar cause – protecting the land.

Cass is a demon Imp with a high sex drive for Fae. He is two feet tall with dark blue horns, pot-bellied and pink fur. He has been partnered with Evie since they were sixteen at the Hunter Academy, and they can mind speaking with each other. However, they also respected each other’s needs and boundaries.

Besides the main characters, Molly, a human blood ‘donor’ to a vampire and also a supernatural fanatic, is also one that has the potential to play a big part in the story. I love Evie and her to bond and become a best friend. She would be valuable as she is like a supernatural encyclopedia.

Magic Sight

When Evie found out she was knocked up with the alpha’s baby and a rare Kitsune with untold power, she thought life couldn’t get anymore complicated.

Then she was told she was also the guardian of the gate to the underworld and that her dad was still alive.

Now she has 48 hours to bring in the Siren who started this whole fiasco in the first place.

What could go wrong?

Book two has lots of action, and they also venture into the unknown territory to mend Evie’s weapon. In this book, Evie is still being herself, unrestrained even with pregnancy and full of responsibility over her bounty hunter business and the latest one to protect the gate. Yet, she still has much to learn about her magic sides.

Meanwhile, Molly showcases a high level of usefulness in this book. She is brilliant, quick-thinking, and brave, and her willingness to self-sacrifice is admirable. Cass has also proven his fierce loyalty by his readiness to trade his life for Evie. I’m glad both of them play a significant role in the story. It’s their unique personalities that bring the story to life.

I hope the last book will see less bedroom activity for Evie and Brock and more focus on sharpening her magic skills. I wonder if her dad will show up as the Akuma has already found out about her, so there’s no need for her dad to continue being absent. Maybe if he shows up, the two will behave!

Nevertheless, the question remains. Can Evie seal the gate before the triplets break the gate with the underworld army, and if so, at what cost? I’m eager to find out how the story ends. I’m sure the last book will be even more intense.

Magic Touch

When the three siren sisters disappear into the underworld, Evie Black thinks she might finally get a break from the chaos that had become her life.

Not a chance.

Someone from her past shows up out of nowhere, and now the Akuma demons are on Evie’s trail.

As if that weren’t enough for a pregnant supernatural hybrid to handle, a mysterious fog seeps through a crack in the gate to the underworld and wreaks havoc on the town.

Evie has had enough. She’s going to close that gate once and for all. She won’t rest until every single demon is back where they belong. Luckily, she has her trusted crew to help her every step of the way.

The Sirens are back in hell and have promised to return to Earth with their armies in tow. Although there is no immediate threat from the Sirens for now, there’s no time to rest for Evie and the team, as a Demon fog has escaped from hell, driving the people in town into a rabid killing frenzy.

Evie has to muster her army of supernatural beings to defeat the Demon Fog while also preparing for the impending war with the Sirens. To top it off, the government is more wary than ever and has begun to take drastic measures to label and track all living supernatural beings. Cass has nowhere to hide but back to hell, and that’s when all hell breaks loose.

I’ve had a lovely adventure with Evie and the crew in this trilogy. I particularly like it whenever they venture into a new territory. In this book, I get to visit hell. Although they didn’t stay there for long, it’s still enough to satisfy my curiosity about what the authors thought about hell and the creatures.

The only dissatisfaction with this story is that I didn’t get the answer to what favour Belinda did to Croft, the Vampire lawyer. I also have no idea why Cass has to go back to hell because the world is vast, and he could just lay low in some remote forest, which is what Willemena did. Better still, he could have stayed with her! It just doesn’t make sense.

Lastly, the bedroom activities in this trilogy must have been written by Lucia Ashta because I’ve read almost all of Leia Stone’s series, and when there’s a sex scene, it’s always a brief account and not as lengthy as this one. Lucia, you’re a bad influence! Just kidding. Keep up the good work, you two.
