Eating and Drinking in Bangkok

We flew from Penang to Don Muang at 15:05 (Malaysia time) and reached 15:40 (Thailand time). This time we stayed at Trinity Silom by Zinc for two nights before leaving to Chiang Mai. While we were in Bangkok, we went to Molly Malone and met up with Mike’s mate, Trev. Besides eating and drinking for two days here, we didn’t do any sightseeing.

On the 22nd Mac, we arrived at Bangkok station from Chiang Mai at 6:40 am. Since we had plenty of time to kill before we were allowed to check-in at the Ambassador Hotel, we went to Chatuchak Market to get a Chiang Mai’s fridge magnet which I’ve forgotten to get when I was there. But to my disappointment, I couldn’t find one. We headed back to Sukhumvit and arrived at the hotel about 11 am. However, it was still early, and they didn’t have any rooms available yet. We have no choice but to leave our luggage with the concierge and headed out to Sabai Jai Ekkamai for lunch.

The place is an open-air seating concept, and it’s a famous place for Isan food. The menu written in English makes it easier to order if you can’t read Thai.

Later that night we had our dinner at Kiwi Bangkok and then went to Gulliver’s Traveler’s Tavern pub and restaurant to watch Manchester United versus Liverpool.

When we arrived at the pub, it was packed with peoples, and we were lucky to get seats. They have a few pool tables and also a huge projector screen showing the main match.

The next morning we went to MBK mall to search for my fridge magnet and also to visit my favourite food stall on the 6th-floor food court. It’s the first stall next to the entrance where you exchange your money for the food prepaid card. They serve delicious beef stew noodle soup. My mission accomplished when I finally able to get the souvenir that I wanted. It’s on the same floor as the food court, and you can get any local handcraft in here.
