Gods and Goddesses, Demigods, Vampires, as well as other species, must work together to prevent the great war and apocalypse. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff wrote these brilliant books with some romance involving the reluctant gods and humans.

There are five main books in this series and two short stories that I have listed down according to the reading order. I also wrote a brief opinion on each book, and because the books came with great and lengthy synopsis of the books, I didn’t have to re-write them 😉.

Accidentally in Love with…a God?

Twenty-two-year-old Emma Keane has a secret friend. He’s powerful, mysterious, and devastatingly handsome. In her dreams, anyway. In real life, he’s an enigma. Maybe just a teensie jealous. Definitely overbearing. He’s also a voice only she can hear.

So who or what is he? He won’t say. But if she wants to be free, to be normal, Emma will have to trek to the jungles once ruled by the Mayans and find the forgotten ruin holding the answers.

However, the ruthless deity she’s about to unknowingly unleash on the modern world, might not be so easily extracted from her life. Bottom line, he’s got enemies, and now, so does she.

My thoughts…

The storyline was interesting, the main characters were tiresome, and the conclusion was predictable, but I loved the cliffhanger, which made me stay on the series and ready to read the next book. Now, as much as I like to skip the next book and find out what happened to Emma’s grandmother, I won’t cheat, and who knows I might like the second book – Accidentally Married to…a Vampire?

Accidentally Married to…a Vampire?

“If you love her, set her free. If she comes back, she’s yours. If she doesn’t…Christ! Stubborn woman! Hunt her down and bring her the hell back; she’s still yours according to vampire law.” – Niccolo DiConti, General of the Vampire Queen’s Army.

THE DETERMINED VAMPIRE: Niccolo DiConti has faithfully served as leader of Her Majesty’s army for over a millennium, but he’d rather sunbathe in the Sahara than spend another gruelling day under his demented queen’s command. However, no one has ever left her side and lived to tell.

So, when a powerful goddess prophesies he will meet his salvation—a human woman he must turn into a vampire with her consent—he eagerly rises to the challenge. After all, how hard could it be to seduce a human female into taking the immortal plunge?

Harder than he thinks. Because his mate won’t be born for another three centuries, and when he wakes up in the goddess’ tomb, not only is his life a mess, but his destined female isn’t about to settle for a cold-hearted vampire. Can he win her over before it’s too late? Not if his enemies have anything to do with it.

AN UNWILLING BRIDE: On the night Helena Strauss meets the fierce, devastatingly handsome vampire who saves her life in the jungles of Mexico, she knows her world will be forever changed. Because an attraction this mind blowing only comes along once in a lifetime—or existence. And when he claims she is his one true mate, destined to be his for all eternity, it’s a fairy-tale come true.

So, what if her knight in shining Armor is a vampire? Nobody’s perfect. But discovering the powerful, overbearing immortal doesn’t “do love”? Deal breaker. Helena will flee and set out to accomplish the impossible…sever the otherworldly bond between them. And it turns out, Helena is just the leverage Niccolo’s enemies need to break the mighty warrior and wipe out his people.

My thoughts…

The second book was much better than the first one, but there’s one thing that I’ve been wandering after finishing reading the story. What were the differences between Demilords and Demigods? One of the ‘characters’, which I won’t mention here, was using both titles at the end of the story.

The main characters – Helena knew what she wanted in her love life, and Niccolo always obeyed rules. They both were likeable characters. However, the character I loved the most was the crazy goddess Cimil; she was funny. I couldn’t wait to read her story, which was book #4.5.

Sun God Seeks…Surrogate?

A Deal from Heaven Living in New York City, Penelope Trudeau has seen a lot of weird stuff-but nothing like the insane redhead who accosts her with a wild proposition. Penelope will get a million dollars if she has a baby with the strange woman’s brother.

With her mother dying from a mysterious disease, Penelope can use the money. Yet the terrified waitress is adamant that her womb and eggs are not for sale . . . until she meets her intended mate.

He’s impressively built, gorgeous, and red-hot, literally. He’s a freaking immortal Sun God. For thousands of years, Kinich (Nick to his friends) didn’t believe in fraternizing with humans, so procreating with them is definitely a no-no.

But after one sizzling encounter with the beautiful, passionate Penelope, Nick begins to think he was wrong . . . until he realizes meeting Penelope was just another one of his crazy sister’s schemes at manipulation. But now that he has Penelope in his life, he can’t let her go. Especially because doing so means throwing her into the hands of his dangerous enemies.

My thoughts…

Sun God Seek Surrogate was the book where we got the answer to the cliffhanger in book one. However, the main characters in the story weren’t Emma and Guy, but Penelope and Nick. In this book, we also read about Helena, Niccolo, Andrus, and of course, the crazy goddess Cimil, who’s behind all the dramas in the story.

Is the story getting much more complicated with all the following crossbreeds? Half Angel with God, Vampire with Demigod, Payal with God, Vampire with Fallen Angel? What about the pregnant women taking charge of God’s duty to prevent the apocalypse, well good luck with that. Even writing about this makes my head hurt, Mimi is one hell of a writer, Salute!

Accidentally…Evil?

The God of Male Virility Has Never Had a Date . . . Until Now

“Make no mistake, I am not the sort of god who enjoys playing games. When I return, you will tell me everything – who and what you are – then we shall spend the evening making love.”

When Maggie O’Hare hears those words she thinks she’s lost her mind. One minute she was traipsing around the Mayan jungle looking for her father’s excavation site; the next she’s accused of being immortal by a guy who swears he’s a god.

And as for the making love part… well, the fact that it sounds like a very good idea is a sure sign she’s gone mad. But this guy who calls himself the God of Virility – he’s superhot. And every time he touches her, something crazy happens.

Backlum Chaam has waited seventy thousand years to meet the woman Fate has chosen for him, and now that she’s here, he can’t believe his luck. Maggie is brilliant and gorgeous and everything he could have dreamed of… except that she insists she’s human. But Chaam knows that’s impossible-a god could never love a human. And if he seduces one, their passion could have the power to destroy mankind…

My thoughts…

From the title, we could already guess what the story was about. I was glad that Mimi wrote this short story to give us a better understanding of how it all started. Chaam wasn’t always a bad god, and from what I’ve read so far, Cimil was ever the mastermind behind all things that happened. But, I was sure she did it for a reason.

Anyway, this book still ended with another cliffhanger, and I couldn’t wait to read about their happy reunion. Right now I guessed that when Guy shoved him down the hole in Book 1, it was where Margaret was left trapped. All that Cimil said about the conditions matched the situation. But how would Margaret play her role so that humankind will thank her later? I guess we’ll have to continue reading till the last book in the series to get the whole story 😁.

Vampires Need Not…Apply?

Meet Dr. Antonio Acero. Heir to Spain’s wealthiest family, world-renowned physicist, and dedicated bachelor. While on vacation in southern Mexico, Antonio discovers an ancient Mayan tablet. Local legends say it contains magical properties, properties that could put his stalling research on the map.

But is this really his lucky break?

When Antonio attempts to put the tablet to use, he’ll discover that Fate has other plans. Her name is Ixtab, and she’s quite possibly the deadliest deity who ever lived.

My thoughts…

This book started slow but picked up steadily afterwards with more things happening, especially 70% onwards. What made me stick to the book was Ixtab and her stupid veil. The thought of Antonio’s reaction when he finally saw her face drove me to keep reading the story as fast as I could.

Most of the outcome wasn’t what I expected, the twist in the story was fabulous, and I could not wait to see how it all unfolded. I still believe in Cimil though, whatever she did must have a reason behind it, and I couldn’t wait to read her explanation.

Accidentally…Cimil?

A Crazy Kind of Love Meet Cimil. Yeah, she’s the Goddess of the Underworld, harbinger of all things evil and deadly, yadda, yadda . . . but she’s also crazy fun! While minding her own business in Giza, Egypt, around 3000 BC (give or take a few centuries), she spots the hottest mortal her immortal eyes have ever seen. And he’s not just any guy-he’s the strong, powerful pharaoh who’s fallen madly in love with her.

But when he kills her pet unicorn, Cimil vows revenge, even if takes thousands of years to get even. When Roberto meets Cimil, the king knows she’s his soul mate. It isn’t just her beautiful eyes or gorgeous body, but the godly power he feels simmering just beneath her fun-loving surface. They were the perfect couple . . . until the dead unicorn thing.

Now after four thousand years, Roberto crosses paths with Cimil again, and his love for her is stronger than ever. But can he prove that he can once again be trusted with her heart?

My thoughts…

Ah, …finally we got the reason behind all her actions. Now it all made sense, and I was right to support her from the start. Cimil played the most significant role in the whole series, but Mimi only wrote a short story for her, it wasn’t fair! Her dedication to saving the world from the apocalypse deserves better appreciation!

I wished to read a complete book dedicated to her. Cimil’s match-matching handiwork for the other gods and goddesses and her struggle in completing the action in the opposite direction of her impulse would also be exciting.

P/S: I wonder what would happen in our life if we decide to do the opposite for whatever thing we think is the right thing?

Accidentally…Over?

When it comes to Máax, the God of Truth who refuses to follow the rules, there’s more to him than meets the eye. Literally. Because Maáx is invisible! Which is probably why, after seventy-thousand years, he’s still unable to find a mate.

Ashli Rosewood was never meant to die. In fact, her death might be the very reason the gods are now faced with stopping that pesky doomsday right around the corner. If only there was a way to undo the past.

Cue Máax. Seven feet of divine masculinity and the unruly god charged with saving Ashli. With a little help from an ancient Mayan tablet, Máax will travel back in time and set things right.

Easy, right?

Wrong.

Because Máax has one teensy challenge. He’s invisible. And every time this impatient, powerful deity gets anywhere near Ashli, he spooks her right into harm’s way. Meaning…she dies, and he has to start all over again.

Cliff, banana peel, runaway storage container filled with Belgian chocolates, bee sting, the list goes on and on. Does the Universe have it out for this girl? Sure seems that way. But why? And what will Máax do when he begins to suspect that not only is Ashli the key to stopping the apocalypse, but she may be “the one” he’s been waiting seventy-thousand years for.

How will he save the one woman the Universe insists on killing and who wants nothing to do with him?

My thoughts…

I loved Maax’s story; his determination to save Ashli was fun to read, especially his journey back in time. Accidentally Over was my favourite in the series! However, the apocalypse was laughable, it didn’t feel scary at all, and I thought it could be better. Overall, the Accidentally Yours series was fun to read and to understand the whole story, it would be better to read all the books.

Now, I’m looking forward to reading the next series – The Immortal Matchmaker and find out about the other character’s love life and trouble that Cimil has in mind for them, probably because we all know that Cimil is a batshit crazy goddess 😁.
